It’s a genuinely good gig as far as campus jobs go — but it’s also the perfect moment to talk about what I had shared earlier: the Mobile Barista.

The Upgrade: On weekends change the brew! Bring out the “banging music” & shift the craft & launch a Sober Bar.This ‘Liquid Engineer’ side hustle is the ultimate high-agency pivot. Traditional cafes/bars are stuck in the past—locked behind high rent, glass walls, & static locations. You are taking skills learned in a workshop & monetizing them directly. Some basic Math 👇️

Weekday Grind: 50 Coffees × $5 = $250/day Weekend Social: 40 Mocktails × $8 = $320/day

The Flash: Workshop: If you’ve ever worked behind a bar or handled a rush at a cafe, you already have the “Systems Know-how” to run this hustle. Host a “Latte Art 101” while the milk froths.

So the real headline isn’t “USyd is hiring a barista.” It’s “USyd is telling every student on campus that coffee demand here is bigger than what’s currently being served.” That’s proof of concept, not a solved problem.
